This site was acquired by Northshore from Perth and Kinross Council in 2014 having lain empty for several years. Our original strategy was to redevelop the site for residential and planning was received for four new build houses.
However, as with all the best strategies the original plan evolved and we identified significant demand for a new children’s nursery in this part of Perth.
Planning was confirmed and consent secured for the change of use of the main school building totalling c.5,000 sq.ft. in to children’s nursery.
There was significant interest from tenants wanting to run the nursery. Having selected our preferred partner, we worked closely with then to ensure the redevelopment of the building met their operational requirements.
The nursery opened in March 2015 and is licensed for 83 full time equivalent places with the Care Commission and recently received a “Very Good” rating. The nursery was sold to the operators in 2021.
